Our Story
Zi-Bee Reads was born from a simple belief that every child deserves a great book, and no reader should ever have to say "I don't know what to read next." We built a free app that finds your perfect book in seconds, tracks your reading journey and makes the love of books feel personal, fun and truly global.
Our Mission
We believe a child who reads becomes an adult who thinks. Our mission is to remove every barrier between young readers and the books that could change their lives no matter where they are in the world or what language they speak.

```1. Who We Are
Zi-Bee Reads ("we", "us", "our") is a free web application accessible at zibeereads.github.io/zibeereads. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.
2. Information We Collect
When you sign up we collect your name, email address and age group. We do not collect payment information, government IDs or sensitive personal data. Reading preferences, book lists and challenge progress are stored locally on your device only and are never sent to our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your name and email are used solely to personalise your experience within the app and to occasionally send you reading recommendations and product updates. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Storage
Your signup data is stored securely using Supabase, a GDPR-compliant cloud database hosted in the EU. Your device data (books, challenge progress) is stored in your browser's local storage and is never transmitted to external servers.
5. Third-Party Services
Our AI book recommendations are powered by OpenRouter. Amazon affiliate links are provided for your convenience we may earn a small commission when you purchase through these links at no extra cost to you. We use Cloudinary for image delivery.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Zi-Bee Reads serves users of all ages including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe your child has provided us information without your consent please contact us immediately at zibeereads@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights contact us at zibeereads@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
Zi-Bee Reads does not use tracking cookies. We use browser local storage solely to save your reading preferences on your own device.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.

All content within Zi-Bee Reads including the mascot, design, branding, written content and code is owned by Zi-Bee Reads and protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works without written permission.
4. AI-Generated Recommendations
Book recommendations are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, suitability or availability of any recommended book. Zi-Bee Reads is not responsible for any purchasing decisions made based on AI recommendations.
5. Affiliate Links
Zi-Bee Reads participates in the Amazon Associates Programme. When you click a "Get Book" link and make a purchase we may earn a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay. We only recommend books we genuinely believe are valuable to our readers.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
Zi-Bee Reads is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the app at any time without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law Zi-Bee Reads shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or profits.
